Turn, Turn, Turn

During this enduringly warm year in Athens, summer has seemed to last long into the fall. Only now has the crisp of autumn air begun to return to campus in turns, tinging the lucky leaf in Georgia red. Walking through campus, I am reminded of the beauty that can come through change, from transformation, letting go.

In our work with students—and within ourselves—there are times when we all need to let things go. Whether it is old habits, preconceptions of those around us, routines, battles fought, unhealthy relationships, an attitude, hurt, loss, whatever the case may be. Seasons change, and sometimes, we all need change too. In those moments of separation and re-centering, we discover our resilience, retune to who we are and the power and meaning in finding fulfillment in our lives.

This fall, may we help students and each other learn to let go, in order to grow.
