Practicing Thankfulness
When was the last time you thought, “People are just too thankful?” Probably never.
In today’s culture we are often quick to acknowledge what we don’t have, what we need or want, or what others need to do. When it comes to expressing thanks for what we do have, or are given, we are far less effusive.
Working with students, we have great opportunities to inspire meaningful reflection that can lead to deeper appreciation. While there will always be areas to seek growth and change, there are also many reasons to give thanks every single day. May we help students—and each other—reflect and never forget the wonderful and much-needed art of practicing thankfulness.
