Eric Atkinson, currently Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, has been named the next Dean of Students at the University of Georgia.

UGA Celebrates Student Veterans
On November 8, 2022, the Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) hosted its annual Veterans Week Scholarship Ceremony sponsored in part by the Reynolds Veterans Association. Over 100 scholarships were awarded to UGA student veterans with a combined value of $88,000— the most scholarships on record to be awarded at SVRC’s annual ceremony thanks to the generosity of both individual and corporate donors.

Completion rates at the University of Georgia have reached record highs, with over 75% of UGA students finishing within four years.

Student veteran displays a heart for service and UGA
In 2017, Brennen Sanders was assigned to the USS Illinois, which at the time was the newest, fastest submarine in the U.S. Navy. He and his shipmates were to prepare for a 7-month long deployment to the Western Pacific.

Students Tackle Challenges & Develop New Leadership Skills
This group of seven students are in a unique position on campus as they now find themselves running the fitness & wellness program within the Department of Recreational Sports. Due to their supervisor being out for maternity leave, these students now oversee, coordinate, communicate and plan for the entire program.
