Jansen Rouillard named director of New Student Orientation

Jansen Rouillard has been named director of New Student Orientation at the University of Georgia. Rouillard was previously assistant director of New Student Orientation. In this role, Rouillard will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, development, and implementation of orientation programs for incoming students at the University of Georgia.

2024 Greek Awards Ceremony

On Sunday, November 10th, the University of Georgia's Greek Life Office hosted the 2024 Greek Awards Ceremony, bringing together chapter presidents, council members, officers, and advisors to celebrate the exceptional achievements of UGA’s four Greek councils and their members over the past year.

CAPS awarded accreditation by APA for its psychology intern program

The University of Georgia’s Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS) in the University Health Center (UHC) has been awarded accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA) for its psychology internship program, marking a significant milestone in UGA’s commitment to excellence in mental health training and services.

Celine McNelis-Kline named Senior Director of CAPS and the Fontaine Center

Celine McNelis-Kline has been named senior director of the University of Georgia’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) and the Fontaine Center. Dr. McNelis-Kline most recently served as clinical director of health promotion and wellness at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.

UGA student veterans receive national leadership award 

Chris King and Dan Triplett have been recognized as among the nation’s top student veterans for their excellence as leaders in their communities. G.I. Jobs Magazine named King and Triplett in their 2024 Student Veteran Leadership Awards.

Flavorful Unity: Mayor of Athens-Clarke County Joins Student Organization for Taste of West Africa  

The African Graduate Students Forum (AGSF) at the University of Georgia hosted a Taste of West Africa event on September 28. Fostering community engagement, it brought together students, faculty, and esteemed guests from the university and local community, including the mayor of Athens-Clarke County, Kelly Girtz.

Students represent UGA at the United Nations General Assembly

The African Graduate Students Forum’s (AGSF) represented the University of Georgia at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City from September 25 to 27. The session was a historic gathering of global leaders, diplomats and advocates committed to shaping a better future for all.

Greek Life Director Joshua Welch to serve as President of the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA) for the 2025-2026 term

Joshua Welch, University of Georgia’s Greek Life Director has been elected to serve as the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA) President for the 2025-2026 term. The upcoming Annual Meeting for AFA takes place in Indianapolis in December, where Welch will step into this role through 2026.

Alpha Phi’s Annual “Mac & Phi’s” Event Raises Over $11,000 for Women’s Heart Health

On October 9th, 2024, Alpha Phi hosted its annual "Mac & Phi's" meal-on-the-lawn event, drawing over 800 attendees and raising more than $11,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
