ASSESSMENT RESOURCES

WHAT IS ASSESSMENT?

“Assessment is any effort to gather, analyze, and interpret evidence which describes institutional, departmental, divisional, or agency effectiveness.” (Upcraft and Schuh, 2001)

Assessment gives us the opportunity to determine how well our programs, opportunities, and services are meeting the needs of our students as well as the overall goals of our institution.

ASSESSMENT PLANNING & REPORTING

Departments are required to submit an assessment plan and report annually utilizing the templates on this site and uploading into their department’s Microsoft OneDrive assessment folder. Information from these templates will be added to each department’s Xitracs folder. Directors can request a PDF of their report at any time. Click here for reporting deadlines.

The assessment plan outlines the following:

  • Department mission and goals
  • 2-3 student learning and/or operational outcomes that will be assessed
  • For each outcome, a plan on how the outcome will be assessed, timeline, participation goal, etc.
The assessment report includes:

  • An overview of the data collected
  • Analysis of the data
  • A description of improvements made as a result.
