From service member to student: highlighting the impact of student veterans

The University of Georgia, ranked among the nation’s top Military Friendly Tier 1 research institutions, supports more than 400 student veterans through its Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC). By offering career connections, scholarships, and community engagement, the SVRC helps veterans transition smoothly to campus life and find belonging at UGA. As student veteran Elias Gandy shared, “Here at UGA, it’s one big family—just like my time being in the military.”

Tradition, Chivalry, Para Siempre: How UGA’s Latin Greek Life transcends cultural barriers to do good

Latin American students at the University of Georgia are few and far between. According to data from 2023, Hispanic or Latino students make up just about 5.8% of undergraduates and 5.6% of graduates at UGA. Despite this, students from Latin American backgrounds make their mark on campus in many ways.

UGA hosts Family Weekend starting Nov. 6

The University of Georgia is hosting Family Weekend from Thursday, Nov. 6 through Sunday, Nov. 9. The weekend will be packed with all the fun fall festivities UGA students experience on a daily basis. Families are invited to visit their Dawgs and participate in tailgates, tours, concerts, games and more.

Housing Against Hunger

University Housing is thrilled to announce the outcome of their Housing Against Hunger campaign: together, they funded 15,723 meals for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia! That’s 120% of their original goal of 13,000 meals—a powerful testament to the generosity and commitment of their on-campus community.

UGA Kicks Off International Education Month with Parade of Flags

The University of Georgia kicked off International Education Month today with its annual Parade of Flags. UGA students and staff walked from the Arch to Tate Plaza carrying national flags to represent their cultural backgrounds.

Sisterhood and Service: The powerful impact of Sigma Delta Tau

Sigma Delta Tau’s SDT Greek Grind raises funds for Prevent Child Abuse America through a spirited dance competition involving all Panhellenic sororities. The sorority also supports local causes, strengthening community ties. Through philanthropy, Sigma Delta Tau fosters sisterhood and makes a lasting impact both nationally and locally.

UGA Homecoming brings week of events

Past, present and aspiring bulldogs are invited to showcase University of Georgia pride during homecoming week. From Sept. 29 to Oct. 4, the UGA Homecoming Committee will host a variety of events in celebration.

UGA to redevelop Legion Pool, Legion Field to better serve and support students

The University of Georgia plans to redevelop the Legion Pool and Legion Field area to better serve and support its students. The redesigned Legion Field area is planned for completion in Fall 2026, complementing the opening of the adjacent West Campus Dining, Learning, and Well-being Center.
