Carrie Truax named senior director of development for Student Affairs

Carrie Truax, previously director of development for university wide initiatives at Clemson University, has been named senior director of development for Student Affairs at the University of Georgia.

Brady Hawkins, a first-year student at the University of Georgia, found his most meaningful college experience through Dawg Camp, a program that helps incoming students connect and adjust before classes begin. UGA students raise more than $500K for cancer research at Jam in the Streets Festival

On March 29, Jam for Cam, a local Athens music festival, welcomed more than 15,000 attendees to the streets of downtown Athens to celebrate the life and legacy of Cameron Fearon, a University of Georgia student who passed away at age 19 after a brave battle with metastatic melanoma. 

UGA again named a top 10 Military Friendly institution

For the ninth year in a row, Viqtory Media has named the University of Georgia one of the top Military Friendly tier 1 research institutions in the country, ranking UGA sixth. Even as the rankings become increasingly competitive each year, UGA continues its stronghold in the top 10 and earned the No. 1 ranking in 2017, 2021 and 2023.

International Student Life celebrates Nowruz with the Persian Student Union 

The Persian Student Union hosted a celebration for Nowruz, or Persian New Year on March 28th. This celebration was one of the semester's Culture Nights, a series of events hosted by International Student Life.

Welcome UGA achieves record-breaking success

With an undergraduate body of more than 30,000 students, the University of Georgia community takes pride in welcoming its newest members with open arms. This is the goal of Welcome UGA, a six-week program helping new students transition smoothly while providing resources for both new and returning students to connect to UGA.

Students serve local communities with IMPACT Service Breaks

From March 2-7, University of Georgia students spent their Spring Break serving with local non-profit partners in Charleston, Asheboro, Charlotte, and Savannah. IMPACT Service Breaks, administered by Engagement, Leadership, and Service, offers students an immersive experience living and volunteering during academic breaks.
