On March 29, Serve UGA, a student organization aimed at promoting a culture of service via volunteer opportunities, hosted this semester’s Dawg Day of Service. Dawg Day of Service is the University of Georgia’s largest day of service, where students can serve and engage with nonprofits in Athens-Clarke County and neighboring counties working alongside local community organizations.
This year’s Staff Awards Ceremony brought an atmosphere of gratitude and celebration, which filled the room as Student Affairs staff from across the division gathered in the Tate Theater to honor their colleagues. From years of service milestones to outstanding achievement awards, this event highlighted the excellence and commitment that drive our division forward.
The UGA Student Veteran Resource Center (SVRC) hosted its 13th annual Honor Cord and Scholarship Ceremony on April 28th. UGA President Jere W. Morehead presented graduates with military honor cords and donors provided scholarships to bridge veterans’ education benefit gaps.

As the spring 2026 Commencement “Georgia on My Mind” singer, Baccus has now become part of a University of Georgia musical tradition spanning six years. Each spring, dozens of students audition for the opportunity, but only one principal and one alternate are selected to sing that old sweet song.
Commencement marks a moment of change for the University of Georgia’s Class of 2026. Graduates not only reflect on what they’ve already accomplished, but also look to the future.
