After intercepting her first thunderstorm, Jessica Muniz knew she found her calling. Now, the sophomore geography and atmospheric science student is channeling her love for the outdoors into a career dedicated to protecting and informing communities through meteorology.
Demosthenian Literary Society held their annual all-night meeting from 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 to 7 a.m. on Feb. 22 to celebrate the society’s 223rd anniversary. The literary society made a focus to branch out to other organizations regarded as the oldest societies at their universities.
The original dream of Cameron Fearon, a University of Georgia student who died from melanoma in August 2018, was to have an Athens-based band competition, and his fraternity brothers made his vision come to life. His dream-turned-reality Jam For Cam’s “Battle Of The Bands” will return to the spotlight Feb. 20 at Paloma Park, featuring Workin’ Past Midnight, a band whose members are all UGA students.
After incorporating additional design work based on input from the Division of Student Affairs, the University of Georgia has updated its plans for the Legion Field redevelopment project to further expand student recreation opportunities in the heart of campus.
On Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m., eight Bollywood dance teams from across the country and Georgia, came together at The Classic Center to showcase their unique performances. This annual event, which celebrated its 33rd anniversary, sold out the theatre.
During the recent winter weather, units across the University of Georgia worked together to keep the campus community safe, warm and informed.
