2023 Student Government Association Election Results
Together ticket elected to top SGA posts
University of Georgia students have elected the Together ticket to the executive branch of the Student Government Association for the 2023-2024 academic year. The ticket consists of President-elect George Moore, Vice President-elect Yuag Shaparia, and Treasurer-elect Gabi Lewis.
George Moore is a third-year honors student from Toccoa majoring in international affairs and political science. Shaparia is a third-year student from Columbus, Georgia, majoring in business administration and economics. Lewis is a third-year marketing major from Atlanta.
The Together ticket’s campaign platform centered on starting new initiatives, sharing student stories, and supporting student organizations.
The SGA inauguration ceremony of the 36th Administration and Senate is scheduled for April 4 at 6 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Grand Hall.
During the 2023 SGA General Election, 7523 students voted. Following a runoff, the Together ticket won with 4,535 votes over the Strive ticket’s 2,564 votes.
The Student Government Association is a registered student organization within UGA Student Affairs.
