UGA ranked #1 for best student life
The University of Georgia was ranked the number one college for best student life by Niche. UGA’s vibrant campus offers something for everyone, ensuring that each student can find their place and make the most of their college experience, whether it be through student organizations, Greek Life, sports clubs , or academics. UGA’s student life has been ranked at or near the top of Niche’s annual student life rankings for more than six years.
Leo Hayden, a first-year biochemistry and molecular biology major, discussed how UGA students can indulge in so many interests and activities beyond their majors and coursework.
“UGA student life has given me the opportunity to express myself through music,” he said. “I have formed many connections with undergraduate and graduate students because of our shared passion.”
Leo is a member of the symphonic band, where he plays the alto saxophone. After arriving on campus for his first year, he knew he wanted to pursue his passion for music and make friends with similar interests.
Thya Gutta, a third-year international affairs and public relations major has found her sisterhood on campus through the Alpha Sigma Rho sorority.
“My favorite part of UGA student life is definitely my sorority,” she said. “I really feel like I found my community on campus and my people.”
Thya helps with Alpha Sigma Rho’s bake sale, which raises money for the One Sky Foundation, an organization that aids in the funding of international orphanages.
University Housing has connected Gokul Selvaraj to the joys of student life at UGA. Gokul is a first-year student, majoring in finance and biomedical physiology. Living in a residence hall this year has connected Gokul with his closest friends.
“I’m able to make a lot of friends here, especially in my dorm,” he said. “We do all kinds of activities through the RAs, which allows me to meet a lot of cool people.”
First-year physics major Emma Berney has a wholistic perspective on the benefits of UGA student life. She admires that UGA has ample opportunities for students to find their niche, even if they are unsure about their passions or interests.
“Even if you’re not sure what you’re really interested in, you can find your community here,” she said.
Every student can have a uniquely enriching collegiate experience at UGA. With so many avenues for involvement, UGA truly stands out as a place where student life means a full and thriving student experience.
