Biographical Info
Dr. Michelle G. Cook is the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Georgia. Cook began her career at UGA in 1998 and has served in several key administrative roles. She has led the university in building strategies to support students and help them maximize their potential. She has long served as both assistant and associate dean for student affairs in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, coordinating student orientation, academic advising, student academic awards, and graduation. Cook established the Office of Transfer Student Services—the first of its kind at UGA—to help transfer students transition into UGA’s learning environment. Cook also served as the inaugural Franklin Residential College dean, launching UGA’s first residential learning community, in conjunction with University Housing.
More recently, Cook served as the Senior Vice Provost where she made significant contributions in terms of recruitment, retention, and success of students from underrepresented backgrounds. She also has a wealth of experience in strategic planning. Cook co-chaired the development of the university’s 2025 Strategic Plan and chaired the Presidential Task Force on Student Services and Support, which recommended the creation of Dawg Source, a one-stop shop for student services at UGA. As vice president, Cook oversees a division comprising 16 departments and 600 full-time staff members, whose purpose is to support students through a wide range of services and programs that promote an environment in which all students can thrive.
Prior to being named associate provost in 2011, Cook served as an associate dean in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, where she was responsible for student academic affairs. She oversaw the college’s Office of Academic Advising, Graduation Certification Office, and launched the Office for Transfer Academic Success. She is an affiliate faculty member in the Institute for African American Studies and the Institute for Women’s Studies. She also is a member of the Foot Soldiers Project faculty. Cook was the inaugural dean of the Franklin Residential College, where she served for three years, and was a 2008 faculty-in-residence at the UGA at Oxford program in Oxford, England.
Cook holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University, a master’s degree in African-American Studies from Yale University and a doctorate in history from Duke University.

Eric Atkinson serves as Dean of Students at the University of Georgia. He is responsible for overseeing the following departments:

He is also a member of the University’s Behavioral Assessment and Response Council (BARC), the Freedom of Expression Team, and co-teaches a First Year Odyssey (FYO) seminar with President Morehead.
Eric received his undergraduate degree from Troy State University and earned M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Georgia. He has worked in UGA’s Division of Student Affairs since 1999.

As the Associate Vice President for Finance and Risk Management, I work closely with the Vice President and serve as a member of the leadership team for the Division. I am the chief fiscal officer and risk advisor for the Division of Student Affairs. My stewardship responsibilities include fiscal and compliance matters, including financial accounting and reporting; HR/personnel actions; EO compliance; payroll; financial management systems; and fund management (state appropriated, auxiliary operations, student activity fee accounts and UGA Foundation funds). Additionally, I serve on several campus-wide committees: Student Technology Fee Committee, All- Campus Student Fee Allocations, and Major Repair and Rehabilitation (MRR). I also serve as the Division’s Return to Work Coordinator.
I received a B.S. and a M.S. in Accounting from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After working as a C.P.A. in Atlanta for two years, I attended The University of Georgia School of Law, where I received my Juris Doctor. Prior to working in the OVPSA, I worked as a law clerk for a federal district judge in Chattanooga, Tennessee and as an Assistant Director for Legal Affairs in the UGA Office of Legal Affairs.

Beau Seagraves serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Well-being within the Division of Students Affairs.
In addition to leading the campus-wide Well-being Resources initiative, as associate vice president, Beau directly supervises five departments, including the University Health Center, Student Care and Outreach, Recreational Sports, the Disability Resource Center and University Testing Services. He serves on the university’s Behavioral Assessment and Response Council (BARC) and has an adjunct faculty appointment in the Mary Frances Early College of Education.
He previously worked in the residence life departments of Furman University and Presbyterian College before coming to UGA as a doctoral intern in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Since then, he has served the university in a number of roles, including assistant dean for Student Support Services, associate director for Student Conduct, assistant dean of students, and associate dean of students and director of Student Care and Outreach.
Beau is an alumnus of the University of Georgia, where he earned his Doctor of Philosophy in counseling and student personnel services. He also holds a Master of Education in counselor education from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Furman University.

Smith provides strategic leadership to support UGA and the Division of Student Affairs in effectively addressing the needs of UGA’s increasingly diverse student population, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the student experience. As associate vice president, he directly supervises three departments within Student Affairs: International Student Life, the Pride Center, and Multicultural Services and Programs. Smith reports directly to the vice president for Student Affairs and serves as a member of the senior administrative and leadership teams for the Division of Student Affairs.

As Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs, Annie Carlson Welch focuses her work on strategic planning, co-curricular learning, building academic partnerships, and supporting assessment and accreditation efforts for the division. This includes oversight of research initiatives and data management to create a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, Annie manages the university’s student complaints portal and assists the Vice President with the student sexual misconduct appellate process.
Annie represents Student Affairs across the university through the establishment of new partnerships and service to the university. She is a member of University Council, serves on the university’s Strategic Planning Committee, and is a member of the Active Learning Management Team, UGA’s Quality Enhancement Plan.
Annie’s professional background covers a breadth of academic and student affairs roles from undergraduate research to assessment, academic advising, student engagement, and fraternity/sorority life. She’s worked at institutions across the country, including NC State University, Wake Forest University, the University of Oregon, and Florida State University.
Annie earned a M.S. in higher education from Florida State University and a B.A. in history and anthropology from the University of Illinois. She is a current doctoral student in the McBee Institute of Higher Education.

As assistant to the vice president for student affairs, Dr. Jackson represents and promotes the Division of Student Affairs by increasing its visibility and creating a consistent brand for the Division, provides new and enhanced digital service and content delivery to students, oversees the coordination of division information technology initiatives, and supports the institution’s mission, vision, and goals. He also leads, consults, and advises collaborative division teams in the areas of communications, digital engagement, and information technology to bring together information, leverage technologies, and create a cohesive and creative approach to engaging and serving students digitally.
Dr. Jackson is a member of the vice president’s office staff, serves on the leadership team for the division, and is a member of the University’s Core Strategic Communications group. In addition, he provides staff support for various initiatives and division-wide projects, and has served on several campus-wide program design and strategy committees. He also supports the Vice President for Student Affairs with the student conduct appellate process.
Stan’s professional background includes nearly 15 years in university administration and higher education communications, including serving on the staffs of the Division of Student Affairs, the UGA Alumni Association, UGA’s Department of Financial Services and the UGA Griffin Campus. Previous to his work in higher education, he worked for the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, Inlingua International and the Verona International Program.
Dr. Jackson has previously served on the 1919 Society of the Piedmont Athens Regional Health System, as well as the boards of Hands On Northeast Georgia and the Georgia Children’s Chorus. He is a graduate of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Oconee program and the Leadership Georgia Class of 2020-2021.
Stan holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in higher education administration, and a Ph.D. in higher education, all from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Angel, live in Watkinsville with their son, Conner, and daughter, Laura Claire. He has been a member of the Student Affairs team since 2013.

John Alvarez Turner is the Interim Director for the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs. John’s professional background in the field of Education spans over fifteen years in K-12, corporate training, and higher education. Prior to UGA, John served as the Associate Director for Hispanic Outreach, Student Success Instructor, Manager of the Dr. Shirla R. McClain Gallery of Akron’s Black History and Culture, and Academic Advisor at The University of Akron as well as a Commissioner on the Civil Rights Commission for the City of Akron, Ohio. He also proudly worked as a Middle School ESL Social Studies Teacher for 7 years.
At UGA, John is responsible for providing leadership with regard to planning, advising, developing and implementing a variety of programs, educational offerings, and trainings that focuses on providing opportunities that promote diversity, equity and inclusion, multicultural education and awareness, and intercultural engagement that also honors intersections of identity for the office of Multicultural Services and Programs.
John holds a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from The University of Akron and a Bachelor’s in History from the University of Central Florida. John joined UGA Multicultural Services and Programs in this role in 2018.
John is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Student Affairs Leadership at the University of Georgia

Jan Davis Barham is Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Tate Student Center. She is responsible for managing the operations of Tate to include facility services, Campus Reservations Events and Technical Services, Print & Copy Services, the UGA Card Office, the UGA Chapel, and the Center for Student Activities & Involvement, which administers the Student Government Association, University Union Student Programming Board, Pandora Yearbook, WUOG 90.5FM, the Graduate Student Association, and over 800 registered student organizations. Jan also oversees the Freedom of Expression Policy for the University of Georgia and serves as a member of the Behavioral Response Team.
Jan received her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2004, her master’s degree from Appalachian State University in 1997 and her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1994. She has served as a Graduate Faculty member in the College Student Affairs Administration program at the University of Georgia for the last seven years. Jan has authored several published articles including Increasing Accountability in Student Affairs Through a New Comprehensive Assessment Model, and most recently co-edited a book, A Practitioners Guide to Assessment.

As the Director of the Disability Resource Center, Erin leads the university’s commitment to educate and serve students with disabilities, ensuring equal educational opportunities as required by the ADA and other legislation. The Disability Resource Center works with students to determine appropriate academic accommodations and houses the Test Accommodations Office for onsite classroom testing and Alternative Media Services, which converts required printed material into accessible formats for students with reading disabilities.
Erin has two degrees from the University of Georgia, a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Public Administration and Policy. She spent most of her undergraduate years at UGA as a student disc jockey for the WUOG 90.5 radio station. Erin initially joined the staff of the Disability Resource Center in 2015 as a senior disability services coordinator and has served as director since 2018. Previously, she served more than nine years in Student Affairs at the University of North Georgia Oconee Campus, including seven years working directly with students with disabilities.

Taylor Cain is the Director of Engagement, Leadership, and Service (ELS) where she leads a team in the direction and promotion of student engagement at UGA. The ELS portfolio includes student activities and events, 850+ registered student organizations, community engagement and service, leadership development, student governance, and student media. She also serves as the primary advisor for the Student Government Association (SGA).
Joining the University of Georgia in 2013, Taylor first worked directly with student organizations and has since served in several roles to include overseeing student activities and the programming board, student governance organizations, and first-year and transfer student experience initiatives. Over the course of her career, she has planned, executed, or consulted on thousands of events to include those with attendance of nearly ten thousand. In 2016, Taylor spearheaded the creation of a university-wide welcome experience later named Welcome UGA encompassing hundreds of events in the first six weeks of the fall and spring semesters.
Taylor serves as an advisor to the University System of Georgia’s Student Advisory Council comprised of all 26 campus’ student body presidents. She also currently serves as a member of the NASPA (Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education) Foundation’s Board of Directors and as a National At-Large Governor on the University of South Carolina Alumni Association Board of Governors. She has previously served as the Georgia State Director and Foundation Ambassador for NASPA Region III.
Taylor holds a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of South Carolina. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from UGA’s College Student Affairs Administration program.

Dr. Martha Dannenbaum is the Executive Director of the University Health Center at The University of Georgia. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University (BA-Biology) and the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio (MD), with a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology completed at the University of Oklahoma. She is Board Certified by the American Board of OB/Gyn (ABOG) and was in private practice as an OB/Gyn in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 15 years. Prior to coming to UGA, she spent 17 years at Texas A&M University Student Health Services, with the last 15 of those years in the role of Director. Dr. Dannenbaum is passionate about innovative quality improvement work focused on holistic student well-being.

Kasper brings more than 20 years of experience in University Housing. She previously served as executive director of residential education at the University of South Florida, director of residential education and associate director of University Housing and Dining Services at Oregon State University, and assistant director for residential education at the University of Arizona.
At South Florida, Kasper oversaw the implementation of a residential curriculum that contributed to increase USF’s overall persistence rate to record highs. She also served as interim chief housing officer, supervising facilities, operations and outreach, and budget and finance.
Her professional associations include being elected to serve as Residence Education Director for the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I) and past service as co-chair and faculty for the annual ACPA Residential Curriculum Institute, as well as faculty chair for the National Housing Training Institute.
Kasper earned her Master of Education in higher education and student affairs administration from the University of Vermont and her bachelor of science in public relations with a minor in broadcasting from Northern Michigan University.

Barrett Malone serves as Associate Dean of Students within the Division of Student Affairs. In this role, Barrett provides administrative oversight and supervision to three departments, including Student Conduct, Greek Life, and the Student Veterans Resource Center. He also chairs the University’s Behavioral Assessment and Response Council (BARC) and is a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team.
Barrett previously served the University as Director for the Office of Student Conduct and was responsible for planning, implementation, evaluation and oversight of the University’s student conduct system. He also facilitated and served as the Hearing Officer for sexual misconduct hearings and coordinated and monitored appeals of all University judicial hearings.
A two-time graduate of UGA, Barrett received his B.B.A. from the Terry College of Business and earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. Prior to joining the Division of Student Affairs, Barrett worked in the sports communications department at the University of Georgia Athletic Association, and after graduating from law school, entered the private practice of law for several years before returning to his alma mater.

Dr. Nicole McConnell is the Director of Student Transitions (ST) where she leads a staff in the endeavor of supporting students during their key times of transition at UGA. The department of Student Transitions works to connect students to on-campus resources that will help them learn strategies to effectively navigate their collegiate experience. The ST portfolio includes Dawg Camp, Welcome UGA, and transition leaders as various transition programming opportunities.
Joining the University of Georgia in 2017, Nicole worked as the Assistant Director of Student Activities which included overseeing student activities and the programming board, first-year and transfer student experience initiatives, and the homecoming committee. Over the course of her career, she has planned, executed, or consulted on tons of events including those with an attendance of nearly 7,000. Previously, she served three and a half years in Student Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University, working in residential life and housing.
Nicole holds an Ed.D in Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Georgia, Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial engineering Technology from Kennesaw State University (formerly Southern Polytechnic State University). Her research and professional interest areas include supervision, student involvement, biracial/multiracial student experience, and support of students in transition.

Student Affairs is comprised of 16 departments that provide incredible programs, services and scholarships to our diverse student population. Many of our initiatives are made possible by the generous gifts from alumni, foundations and friends of the university. As the senior director of development, I serve as the chief fundraising officer for the vice president and our department directors and colleagues, and I partner with them to ensure their priorities are financially solvent through private and annual giving.
I graduated from the university in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History, and I proudly proclaim myself a product of the programs and services supported by Student Affairs. Without them, I would not have been prepared to achieve post-graduate success. I am honored and tremendously excited to be back at my beloved Alma Mater, and look forward to establishing many new relationships with folks who share my enthusiasm and appreciation for Student Affairs!

Jon is the Director of the Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) and has been in this position since July, 2021. He is a retired Army officer and a veteran of four combat tours in the Middle East plus operational deployments in Panama, Japan and South Korea. Jon is also a retired K-12 educator in the state of Alabama with service as a high school teacher, an assistant principal, a career and technical education director and as a superintendent.
Jon holds a bachelor’s of business administration from the University of North Georgia, a master’s of adult education from Kansas State University, and a doctorate of education from Auburn University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the National Defense University.
As the SVRC Director, Jon serves as the faculty sponsor of the UGA Student Veterans Association and Chair Elect of the national Council on Military Transition to Education.

Carrie Smith serves as the Director of Student Care & Outreach, providing individualized support and assistance to students experiencing hardship circumstances. She oversees general case management within Student Care & Outreach. Additionally, Carrie provides trainings and informational sessions to campus and community partners about working with students of concern and the role of Student Care & Outreach. Carrie also serves as a member of the university’s Behavioral Assessment and Response Council (BARC).
Carrie received a B.B.A. in Marketing from Mississippi State University, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi, and she holds a Ph.D. in College and Student Personnel Services from UGA. She worked in corporate public relations at Fleishman-Hillard before returning to the field of education to serve as the Assistant Director of Admissions at The Browning School. Prior to coming to UGA, Carrie worked with graduate admissions, scholarship programming, and athletics at the University of Mississippi. She served as the Student Affairs Case Manager before this position.

As the director of Greek Life, Joshua is responsible for strategic oversight of Greek Life Office operations and leads a team of talented professionals who work to create meaningful fraternity and sorority experiences for the 7500+ students involved in the Greek community. Through his personal and professional experiences, Joshua has come to believe that the fraternity and sorority experience, rooted in values, uniquely equips students to become impactful and multifaceted leaders.
Prior to arriving at UGA in spring 2020, Joshua served as the associate director of fraternity and sorority life at North Carolina State University where he oversaw fraternity and sorority housing initiatives, alcohol and other drug prevention education for the department, and as a liaison to alumni advisors and house corporations and the department. Over the past 12 years of his career in higher education, Joshua has worked at a variety of institutional types, including campus and headquarters-based positions.
Joshua’s professional involvement includes volunteer roles in the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors where he has served as a representative to the Nominating & Election Committee and the Professional Development Committee exploring core competencies of the profession for fraternity and sorority advisors. He is a 2020 Recipient of the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors.
Joshua received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and a Master of Education with a specialization in College Student Personnel from Western Carolina University.

The Assistant Director, in their capacity as Advisor to the Interfraternity Council, supervises the innerworkings of the council’s executive leadership, advocates for the twenty-six (26) IFC chapters represented at the University, and works to incorporate strategic growth, leadership development, and health/safety practices into the community of ~3,000 undergraduate men.
The Assistant Director supervises the one of the Office’s graduate assistants, who supports the initiatives, goals, and students within the Interfraternity Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council. The graduate assistant also advises Order of Omega, plans leadership programs, helps facilitate conference planning, and supports other special projects as assigned. In supervising the graduate assistant, the Assistant Director manages position responsibilities, supports a positive learning environment, and supports core competency achievement.
The Assistant Director teaches the Emerging Greek Leaders (EGL) course and advises the Greek Fellows. EGL is an eight-week course hosted each spring that serves the overall Greek community in developing friendships, leadership skills, educational development, and ends with the annual Greek Day of Service event that serves the Athens-Clarke County community. The Greek Fellows are graduates of the EGL course that apply to serve as mentors for first-year Greek experience students.
The Assistant Director also serves on the Learning Collaborative within the branch of Student Affairs (SA) at the University. This committee is comprised of a staff member from each department across SA with the purpose of composing, developing, and submitting Experiential Learning (EL) credits which are used as supplementary learning from students outside of the classroom. As the department representative, the Assistant Director works with other Greek Life Office staff to ensure their students are enrolled and processed within their EL credits each year.
Originally from North Carolina, Logan received his B.A. in English Literature, with a minor in Philosophy from Western Carolina University and his M.S.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis with a concentration in Higher Education from the University of Missouri. As an undergraduate student, Logan joined Sigma Chi Fraternity and was heavily involved in his chapter, on the Interfraternity Council, and in the community. Prior to his time at UGA, Logan worked in Advancement at the University of North Carolina (Charlotte), Accountability and Chapter Services Departments at Sigma Chi Fraternity Headquarters, and advised the Multicultural Greek Council and Interfraternity Council at the University of Missouri.

As an Assistant Director for Greek Life and the Advisor to the Panhellenic Council, Kara supports the Panhellenic Council Executive Board and 19 nationally affiliated women’s fraternities, totaling over 5,000 undergraduate women. In her role, Kara creates, executes, and supports initiatives in areas such as risk management, membership recruitment, overall member development, diversity, equity and inclusion, officer training, and chapter development. She also works to support UGA Miracle, which raises money and awareness for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Kara also represents the Greek Life Office on the Digital Engagement Collaborative which forms digital engagement strategies and coordinates digital engagement efforts for both division-wide initiatives and individual departments.
Originally from West Branch, Iowa, Kara received her B.S. in Agriculture and Society and Political Science, with a minor in Sociology from Iowa State University and her M. Ed. in Higher Education Leadership from Texas Christian University. As an undergraduate student, Kara joined Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women and was involved as a leader in her chapter and on the Panhellenic Council. This experience ignited her passion for Student Affairs. Prior to her time at UGA, Kara served as the Graduate Advisor for Panhellenic and as a Graduate Hall Director at Texas Christian University.
Kara enjoys working with the talented student leaders on campus and being a part of their journey at UGA. She looks forward to watching the organizations within Greek Life continue to grow and evolve.

Rebecca serves as the Director for the Office of Student Conduct, providing oversight and leadership for the University’s student conduct system. Rebecca facilitates the University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy/Title IX hearings, and serves as a member of the Division of Student Affairs’ Leadership team and also the University’s Behavioral Assessment and Response Council.
Prior to assuming the Director role, Rebecca served as the Associate Director for the Office of Student Conduct at the University of Georgia. Her responsibilities included managing all incoming referrals and reports to the office regarding the University’s student conduct process. She was responsible for resolving alleged violations of UGA’s code of conduct and for oversight of all case assignments, budget management, office supervision, and for coordination of the office’s outreach and education initiatives.
Rebecca received a B.A. from LaGrange College, a Master of Education degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Keith Wenrich leads the Department of Recreational Sports, serves on the leadership team for the Division of Student Affairs and reports directly to the associate vice president for student affairs. He is responsible for the operations of all recreational facilities including the Ramsey Student Center, Pound/Wheeler Gym on the health science campus, Rec Sports complex, Club Sports complex, the Lake Herrick Pavilion, and the Challenge Course in the Oconee Forrest. Keith leads a team of 29 professionals, 10 graduate assistants and more than 550 student employees.
Keith received his undergraduate degree from Susquehanna University in business administration and his M.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi in sports administration. He has worked in UGA’s Division of Student Affairs since 2007 and has worked in higher education for 25 years.

Dr. Sara (Beth) Smith-Thompson came to the Health Center in September 2006. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Before joining the UHC staff, she was in private practice in Winchester, Tennessee. Dr. Smith-Thompson is the lead physician in the Gynecology Clinic.

Dr. Gary Glasser joined the Health Center in October 2014 after 15 years of private practice as an obstetrician and gynecologist in Atlanta. He served on the faculty of Emory University in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics from 1992-2005. He volunteers as a lecturer for Atlanta elementary and middle schools on sun safety and puberty. Dr. Glasser has published numerous papers on subjects relating to women’s health, and has made a number of presentations at regional and national conferences on contraception and breast health. Dr. Perry joined the UHC staff in 2021 after practicing OB/GYN, then Gynecology for 26 years in Athens. She is a member of clinical faculty of the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership as a volunteer preceptor in surgery and ambulatory GYN. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia OB/GYN Society since 2005, and serves as President for 2021-2022. Dr. Perry also volunteers as a physician at Mercy Health Clinic, serving uninsured and underserved patients to provide gynecologic care and consultation. She enjoys serving as an educator for Girology, a group which provides age-appropriate education and information about development, reproduction, sexuality and general health for girls ages 8 and up.

Dr. Nidhi Patel is a physical therapist who joined UHC in 2018. After receiving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy she trained with the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Her areas of interest include pelvic floor rehabilitation (including bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunction) , chronic pain related to musculoskeletal dysfunctions, spinal rehab. She enjoys treating through a combination of manual therapy based approaches, pain neuroscience education and movement based treatments. She specializes in pelvic health techniques that include external/internal assessment and treatment for bladder, bowel, or sexual dysfunction. She is a post natal fitness specialist and certified in trigger point dry needling. She also helps educate other physical therapists interested in pelvic floor PT by acting as a teaching assistant through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.

Wanda L. Johnson is the Director for the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs. Wanda has diverse experience in student growth and development spanning from her time in DFCS, DJJ, Boys and Girls Club, and higher education. Prior to UGA, Wanda served as the Lead Academic Advisor III for STEM majors at Georgia College.
At UGA, Wanda is responsible for providing leadership with regard to planning, advising, developing and implementing a variety of programs, educational offerings, and trainings that focuses on providing opportunities that promote diversity, equity and inclusion, multicultural education and awareness, and intercultural engagement that also honors intersections of identity for the office of Multicultural Services and Programs. Additionally, the Director leads the assessment efforts of the office as well as working closely with student organizations within MSP to ensure proper programming and administrative functioning.

Prior to that he worked at United Regional Physicians Group as a Sports Medicine/Non-operative orthopedics provider and as a primary care physician at Kell West Family Practice both in Wichita Falls, TX. Carolyn Arnold joined the DRC’s staff as a Disability Services Coordinator in 2000 and has served as Assistant Director since 2018. Kevin Karneboge joined the DRC’s staff as a Sign Language Interpreter in 1994 and was later promoted to his current position of Assistant Director of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. Kevin supervises sign language interpreting and captioning for the classroom including instructional media. He interprets in secondary and post-secondary educational settings, and he often interprets in classrooms and at campus events. Kevin is recognized as a state-level interpreter and transliterator by the Georgia Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Tori Whitaker joined the DRC’s staff in 2014 as a Senior Proctor in the Accommodated Testing Office. After several promotions, she now serves as the Senior Accommodated Testing & Alternative Text Coordinator. In this role, Tori administers approved testing services for students with disabilities, communicates with faculty regarding testing, and supervises the Accommodated Testing Office’s student and clerical workers. She also oversees the Alternative Text unit, which produces print materials in alternative formats. After practicing as an Ob/Gyn in India for several years she relocated to the U.S. to complete a Family Practice Residency and has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine continuously since 2006. She worked as a Staff Physician at The Nebraska Medical Center from 2007-2012 before moving to Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa, where she worked until July 2017. Kimberly has worked in various clinical settings to include Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, and Correctional Medicine. Her interests include Eating Disorders, Preventive Medicine, and managing hypertension through lifestyle modification and, when necessary, therapeutic intervention.

Jessica Wiggs is the Assistant Director of Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has received her Master’s in Professional Counseling with a specialization in Military Resilience. Jessica is currently pursuing her PhD in Continuing Education and Supervision with an emphasis in Advanced Clinical Mental Health. Prior to this position, Jessica oversaw daily operations at an inpatient psychiatric facility, in addition to supervising clinical staff. In addition to therapy, Jessica has a work history that ranges from completing psychiatric assessments and drug evaluations to supporting survivors as a victim advocate within a District Attorney’s office. Dr. Arial Treankler joined the CAPS staff in 2013 and is the associate director of clinical services for CAPS. She earned a double BA in Psychology and Sociology: Law, Crime, and Deviance, a Masters in Counseling Psychology, and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology. In addition to these educational activities, she also has various experiences at NAIA and Division I levels in applied sport psychology – an internship at Wichita State University and a post-doctoral residency at the University of California – Davis. Dr. Treankler (Dr. T.) is a Clinical Sport Psychologist trained as a clinical generalist, who also offers specialty clinical and performance enhancement services at regional, conference, and national levels. Other areas of interest include identity development, the challenges of adjustment, trauma, interpersonal concerns, men’s and women’s issues, anger, disordered eating, and stress management. Ray Burg joined the UTS staff as a Psychometric Assistant in 2012. Ray’s position was reclassified to Student Affairs Specialist I in 2015. As a certified Test Center Administrator (TCA), Ray proctors a variety of tests for the Prometric Testing Center as well as ensuring that a welcoming and distraction free testing facility is maintained. Prior to his employment with CAPS he worked in a variety of settings including community behavioral health, private practice, and school-based mental health serving children and adolescents. An alumnus of the University of Georgia, Hank obtained degrees in Psychology and Exercise & Sports Science in 2017 before returning in 2018-19 to pursue additional education in Studio Art. Anthony Chiu is the Nutrition Education Coordinator the University Health Center. He graduated from UGA in 2016, and completed his dietetic internship through Yale New Haven Hospital. He worked as a clinical dietitian with Piedmont Healthcare, and as corporate nutritionist for a major fast food company before coming back to UGA. In this role, Anthony provides nutrition education/ outreach events to students, as well leads cooking classes in the Nutrition Kitchen. When he is not studying to earn his master’s degree, Anthony can be found cooking new recipes, getting over his fear of heights by bouldering, or running around Athens to train for his first marathon (but more likely he’s at home playing video games).

She is a generalist practitioner specializing in treating adjustment, eating disorders and body image, LGBTQ+ issues and trauma (sexual, emotional, physical, and religious). As a Senior Coordinator for the Department of Student Transitions, Taylor supports the Dawg Camp Extended Orientation program. Dawg Camp allows participants to meet other incoming students and connect with current campus leaders in the spirit of UGA’s history and traditions over the course of multiple days. Dawg Camp provides a foundation for a successful college experience by exposing participants to student life, exploring common transition topics, and engaging in fun and dynamic activities. Dr. Ellen House is a board certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist at CAPS and is an Assistant Professor at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees at Yale University and then completed her adult and child psychiatry training at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospitals where she was affiliated with Harvard Medical School. She joins CAPS after being on faculty at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where she was the Department of Psychiatry’s Master Clinical Teacher.

Caroline Hughes joined the UGA Health Center in September of 2022 as a Nutrition Counselor. She is a two-time UGA graduate who first graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and later a Master’s in Nutritional Sciences. She then completed her Dietetic Internship at Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to her arrival at UGA, she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. She specializes in eating disorders, diabetes, weight management, and medical nutrition therapy. In her spare time, she values spending time with her family and friends. As the Director for Talent Management, Kathryn is charged with supporting senior leaders, hiring authorities, and search committees across Student Affairs to identify data-informed staffing needs and develop and execute inclusive recruitment plans and processes. She also oversees wide-ranging efforts, including division-level onboarding, HR operations, engagement, professional learning, etc., to enhance the holistic employee experience, promote the retention and growth of employees, and advance a diverse and inclusive culture.
Prior to Student Affairs, she spent over three and a half years in UGA’s Division of Development & Alumni Relations serving on their Talent Management team, as well as time in private sector recruitment. A Native of Chicago, Ill., he joined the staff in 1992 after serving six years as an officer in the United Sates Navy. Among other duties, he currently is responsible for the Financial Reporting, Purchasing, Auditing, Warehousing and Communication services, and support for the Health Center.

Sarah Kesler joined the Disability Resource Center’s staff as an Administrative Associate in 2008. Currently, she serves as the Senior Administrative Manager for the DRC and University Testing Services. Austin Kovarik joined the DRC’s staff as a Support Technician for the Assistive Technology Lab in 2008. He quickly transitioned to an IT Leadership position in University Testing Services. Austin then rejoined the DRC as Information Technology Manager in 2011. In his current position, Austin oversees all technology in the DRC including network connectivity, data security, staff workstations, student loaner equipment, and IT staff. He has in-depth experience with information systems. Prior to his career at UGA, Austin worked for Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, one of the largest media companies in the world.

Shannon is the Business Services Manager for the University Health Center. She received her B.S. from the State University of West Georgia in 1999 and became a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in 2009. Shannon and her husband moved to Oconee County in 2004, and she joined the UHC staff in November of 2007, after working in the private medical sector for 7+ years. Among other duties, she is responsible for managing accounts receivable; oversight of medical billing; serving as a liaison with UGA Human Resources in managing the university student health insurance plan (SHIP); and coordinating UHC managed care in-network insurance operations.

Dr. Jessica (Jessi) Langley is a Staff Psychologist and Group Coordinator with CAPS. She holds a BS in Experimental Psychology from The University of South Carolina Upstate and a MA in Clinical Psychology from The Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Dr. Langley completed her pre-doctoral internship in Health Service Psychology at Florida State University in the University Counseling Center. She earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology at The University of Georgia in CAPS. Dr. Langley’s professional areas of interest include (1) general adjustment for traditional age, undergraduate students, (2) group therapy, (3) access/triage care, (4) social anxiety, (5) training/supervision, and (6) outreach.

Jimmy Lim joined the DRC’s staff in February 2016 as a Student Proctor and currently works in Accommodated Testing as a Senior Test Administration Specialist. Jimmy supports students registered with the DRC by providing testing accommodations and proctoring exams. He also works closely with faculty and staff and supervises student workers in the Accommodated Testing Office. Jimmy graduated from the University of Georgia, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English while also minoring in Film Studies.

Dr. Malone joined the University Health Center in April of 2024. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 2005. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy as a nuclear trained submarine warfare officer for 6 years. After completing his required time in the military, he entered medical school and earned his MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed residency training at the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Sugar Land, Texas, where he served as Chief Resident. He is board certified in family medicine, and has worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense, providing care for military veterans, active duty soldiers, and their families. He also worked as a primary care physician at Pinehurst Medical Clinic in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He is excited to join UHC and apply this experience to prevent chronic illness and promote a healthy lifestyle early in life.

Michelle is the Business Services Assistant Manager for the University Health Center. She received her BS from the Medical College of Georgia in Dental Hygiene in 1983 and previously worked and acquired RDH licenses in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. In addition, Michelle worked as a faculty member at MCG in Augusta in 1996. Michelle earned a Master of Business Administration from Augusta State University in 1990 and used her expertise in establishing and building a medical specialty practice in the private sector in Athens from 2000-2012. Michelle became part of the UHC family in 2014. Her responsibilities include credentialing and establishing network status with insurance companies, maintaining interactive communication and resolution of complaints with students and parents on billing issues, training new staff within the business services department, and auditing provider coding and documentation for accuracy and appropriateness.

Tammie Martin joined the DRC’s staff as a Front Desk Assistant in 2014. Tammie now serves as Front Desk Specialist which is the DRC’s initial point of contact. She communicates with students, parents, professors, and members of the community via telephone and in person whenever they contact the DRC. She also assists the DRC’s staff with maintaining student records. Before joining the DRC, Tammie worked in UGA’s Office of Student Financial Aid. Prior to her career at UGA, Tammie worked 10 years for the Clarke County School District.

Ebonie is a licensed professional counselor with an extensive background in multiple mental health settings. She attended Georgia State University before obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2011 and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018, both from Argosy University. Before joining UGA in 2023, Ebonie worked as a mental health assessor in the emergency department of a local hospital, and in private practice. Her areas of interest include trauma, mood disorders, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and communication. She primarily incorporates techniques from CBT, reality therapy, ACT, person-centered, and motivational interviewing. Ebonie believes in collaborating with clients to maximize the therapeutic experience. Ebonie is a Georgia native and mother of a daughter. She later resigned from UHC to support her spouse’s military career and went on to work in a neuro-medical long-term care facility. Vincent Perris Oyagha is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor that joined the CAPS staff in November 2023. Prior to his employment with CAPS he worked in private practice, community mental health, and school based mental health serving individuals from all walks of life. Perris obtained a Bachelors Degree of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2018, later pursuing a Master’s Degree in 2020 and graduating with a masters of Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University in 2022. Perris uses a variety of eclectic approaches that are derived from theoretical frameworks that best meet clients’ needs. He seeks to establish trust by developing a strong counselor-client relationship while showing support and acceptance.

Laura obtained an M.S. degree in Health Care Administration in 2015 from King’s College (Pennsylvania), while working as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at the college. Ultimately, she changed career paths from coaching to social work, and she earned her Master of Social Work degree in 2022. Laura is currently working on acquiring her licensure in clinical social work. Her areas of interest include emerging adulthood, LGBTQIA+, dialectical behavioral therapy, anxiety/depression, self-esteem, and interpersonal conflict.

Dr. Peggy Peterson is a physical therapist who joined UHC in 2023. After receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy, she completed a yearlong Women’s Health Residency in Jacksonville, Florida, at the Brooks Rehabilitation Institute of Higher Learning. Her areas of interest include pelvic floor rehabilitation (including bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunction), chronic pain, oncology rehabilitation, and ante- and post-partum care. She enjoys treating through a combination of manual therapy and movement-based treatment to help each individual patient meet their goals and to improve functional mobility and quality of life to promote health throughout the lifespan. Before going to school for physical therapy, since 2013, she has also been a certified athletic trainer, previously working at the collegiate level in the state of Alabama and Georgia with experience in sports-coverage for football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, track & field, and tennis.

Adrian Pritchett serves as the assistant director for investigations in the Office of Student Conduct. As the primary investigator for the office, he speaks with students and community members to gather information about alleged violations, ultimately preparing reports for the University Judiciary. Adrian also serves as an administrative officer, meeting with students who have been referred to the office and then working with them toward appropriate resolutions.
Adrian attended the University of Georgia where he earned an AB from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and a JD from the School of Law. After practicing as an attorney in the fields of bankruptcy and domestic relations for seven years, he was eager to take the opportunity to return to his alma mater and support students on their educational journey. He enjoys working with students and strives to see each student become successful and engaged in the University community.

As the Assistant Director for the Department of Student Transitions, Victoria supports the Dawg Camp Extended Orientation program, a nationally renowned extended orientation program designed to assist students with their transition into the University of Georgia community. In her role, Victoria supports perspective, new, and returning students through dedicated programming that assists with the college transition. She also represents the Department of Student Transitions on the Welcome UGA committee which supports a university wide six-week initiative to help welcome and acclimate students to life at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Austin Shedden joined the CAPS staff in 2011. He earned a BS in counseling and an MA in marriage and family therapy/family counseling from Johnson Bible College in Tennessee. He continued his studies at Argosy University in Atlanta where he earned a MA and PsyD in clinical psychology. His practicum experience includes working in college counseling centers, in private practice and at Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital. He completed a predoctoral internship at The College of William and Mary Counseling Center in Williamsburg, VA. He also worked at an alcohol and drug treatment facility. Her education and professional background give her a unique and effective approach to counseling. She works to provide clients with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives. She has experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with diverse backgrounds and a variety of concerns. Stevie has training in integrative, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness therapy. Her clinical interests include, stress management, depression, adjustment disorders, anxiety, interpersonal problems, self-esteem, LGBT, career development, life planning, and issues related to cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity. Stevie’s approach to counseling is compassionate and non-judgmental; she strives to create an environment where you feel supported and empowered.
Stevie serves as a part-time embedded therapist at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and is currently the Coordinator of the CAPS/Vet Med Counseling Services. She also serves as a Committee Lead over program development with the AAVMC’s Veterinary Mental Health Professionals (VMHP); a specialized group focused on vet med wellbeing.

As the digital engagement lead for the Division of Student Affairs, Wes oversees the design, production, implementation and maintenance of Student Affairs’ digital engagement initiatives. He is responsible for the visual design and branding of the Student Affairs web presence, as well as working with other Student Affairs web and design professionals to support digital engagement initiatives throughout the division.
Previously, Wes worked for the UGA Division of Development and Alumni Relations designing, building and maintaining the online presence of multiple departments, including the UGA Alumni Association, the UGA Foundation, the UGA online giving and event registration system (GAIL), the UGA Parents & Families Association and the Office of Development and Donor Relations
Wes began his career at UGA in the Division of Student Affairs and is happy to once again be a part of enriching the lives of our students while they build the foundation of knowledge that will lead to success after graduation from this great institution.

As the Coordinator for Greek Housing Management, Worth manages the operations for all on-campus Greek housing, interviews and supervises house directors, and collaborates with many offices across campus to ensure that each on-campus Greek house is well taken care of inside and out. He also works to support the Greek Life Office as a whole, including assisting with council executive interviews, helping plan leadership retreats, and broader office initiatives.

Jackie Vaughn joined the UHC dental clinic as a hygienist in March 2023. She graduated with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Athens Technical College in 2006. She worked 16 years in private practice in before joining the University of Georgia. She loves educating her patients on ways to improve their oral health. One of her top priorities is making patients feel comfortable and at ease while in the dental chair.

As Senior Coordinator for the Department of Student Transitions, Mackenzie advises the Transition Leaders, a group of student leaders who are passionate about helping UGA students navigate their UGA journeys. She also coordinates the Dawg Pack cohort program, which gives incoming first-year and transfer students the opportunity to build community, learn about campus resources, and receive mentorship from Transition Leaders during their first semester at UGA. Mackenize also oversees transfer student experience initiatives.

Prior to assuming her role, Amelia Rose supported student development through student conduct, residence life, campus ministry, and other roles. Amelia Rose previously served as a Residential Mentor at IMG Academy, Residence Life Coordinator at Louisiana State University, Coordinator of Student Conduct at Georgia Southern University, and Information Analyst at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She has also supported student success through volunteerism with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Cam Newton Foundation, and British Computer Society (BCS), The Chartered Institute for IT.
