Impact ticket wins 2025 UGA Student Government Association election
University of Georgia students elected the Impact ticket to the executive branch of the Student Government Association for the 2025-2026 school year. The Impact ticket includes President-elect John Neely, Vice President-elect Jhaycee Barnes, and Treasurer-elect Talha Ali.
Neely is a third-year finance and management information systems major from Savannah, Georgia. Barnes is a third-year economics and political science major from Griffin, Georgia. Ali is a third-year accounting major from Marietta, Georgia.
President-elect Neely got involved with SGA during his freshman year, through the First Year Senate program. His favorite part about the organization is the diversity of students it brings to a common purpose.
“By definition, SGA has to bring people from all corners of campus,” said Neely. “That’s been my favorite thing.”
The new administration is focused on making improvements across campus, from a new system for football ticket transfers to virtual student IDs to more diverse meal plans. Their goal is to enhance the student experience at UGA.
During the 2025 SGA General Election, 1,930 students cast their votes. The Impact ticket ran unopposed for SGA’s executive positions.
The inauguration ceremony for SGA’s 38th Administration and Senate will take place on Tuesday, April 8, at 5 p.m.
The Student Government Association is a registered student organization within UGA Student Affairs.
