Welcome UGA is a campus-wide celebration for both incoming and returning students. As a staff member, your contribution to this initiative can make a lasting impact on students’ lives— the data proves it. Studies show the first six weeks of college are crucial in determining a student’s ability to persist and graduate. Welcome UGA is not just an event; it’s an opportunity to connect and foster a sense of belonging that sets their collegiate trajectory.   
   
Students need your participation. The connections you create with them during Welcome UGA will extend far beyond the event itself. You will help them find meaningful friendships, a network of campus support, and a love for the university. In other words, your participation helps students feel like they belong.
