The University of Georgia Announces Fall Family Weekend
The University of Georgia will host fall UGA Family Weekend November 6 – 9, 2025. Students and their families will be able to experience campus traditions, explore Athens, and connect with one another. The program will promote student life and the local campus community, as well as provide a holistic overview of academics and other on-campus opportunities.
UGA Family Weekend is one of several initiatives the university has introduced to strengthen its connection with UGA students’ families. Last fall, the university established the new department of Parent and Family Engagement, ensuring families stay informed and connected to campus life while maintaining a student-first approach.
“UGA Family Weekend will showcase the campus and the city of Athens,” said Amanda Fishman, director of Parent and Family Engagement. “It will show families firsthand why we provide the best student life experience in the country.”
Niche named the University of Georgia #1 for student life in the country in its 2025 rankings.

While many student organizations, departments and academic programs already support student families, Parent and Family Engagement centralizes these efforts to help student supporters engage meaningfully.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for parents and families to experience what it means to be a UGA student and to learn about the many incredible things happening here, both in and out of the classroom,” said Vice President for Student Affairs Michelle Cook. “We look forward to sharing the vibrant spirit of our community and the impactful experiences that shape our students’ journeys.”
The University of Georgia will release more details regarding UGA Family Weekend in the coming months.
