CAPS awarded accreditation by APA for its psychology intern program

The University of Georgia’s Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS) in the University Health Center (UHC) has been awarded accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA) for its psychology internship program, marking a significant milestone in UGA’s commitment to excellence in mental health training and services.

Celine McNelis-Kline named Senior Director of CAPS and the Fontaine Center

Celine McNelis-Kline has been named senior director of the University of Georgia’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) and the Fontaine Center. Dr. McNelis-Kline most recently served as clinical director of health promotion and wellness at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.

To vaccinate as many students, faculty, and staff against the flu as possible, UGA will offer flu shots with no out-of-pocket costs.

UGA hosts 2024 Out of the Darkness Campus Walk

Sponsored by UGA’s Well-being Resources, the event raised $54,894, brought 809 walkers together, and was ranked #1 in the campus walks across the nation.

To encourage comfort and community, the university is providing engagement opportunities and activities throughout the weekend. We recognize each person processes these events differently, but we want to provide an opportunity for students to come together and be in fellowship in safe and supportive environments.

UGA offers flu shots with no out-of-pocket costs

To vaccinate as many students, faculty, and staff against the flu as possible, UGA will offer flu shots with no out-of-pocket costs. flUGA is a series of pop-up flu vaccine clinics held around campus during the fall, presented in partnership between the College of Pharmacy, the University Health Center and UGA Well-being Resources.

Dannenbaum named executive director for University Health Center

Martha Dannenbaum has been named executive director of the University Health Center at the University of Georgia after a nationwide search. Dannenbaum most recently served as director of Student Health Services at Texas A&M University.

Blank Foundation commits $1M to UGA Fontaine Center

The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation awarded a grant of $1 million to the University of Georgia this month to support the university’s Fontaine Center.

No Cost Flu Shots

In order to remove possible financial barriers for students, the UGA University Health Center announces today that effective immediately, students can get their flu shot at no cost to them at mobile #flUGA clinics across campus and with no appointment necessary.
