UGA Recommends Naming Two Facilities for African American Alumni
At the request President Jere W. Morehead, the University Cabinet voted unanimously on Dec. 1 to recommend that two UGA facilities be named for some of the institution’s earliest and most distinguished African American graduates.
Commencement to mark new beginning for 3,286 students
The University of Georgia will welcome its newest alumni Dec. 17 as 1,888 undergraduates and 1,398 graduate students—a total of 3,286—have met requirements to walk in the university’s fall Commencement ceremonies.

UGA recognizes historically Black fraternities, sororities
The University of Georgia held a commemoration ceremony on Friday, Oct. 15, to honor nine historically Black fraternities and sororities on the West Lawn of the Tate Student Center, where markers were installed to recognize the National Pan-Hellenic Council member organizations.
In a year that stretched and challenged us all in unexpected ways, Student Affairs rose to meet the moment again and again.
