In a year we will likely always remember, Student Affairs showed its true value.
From the launch of a new vision for student life through the Student Affairs 2025 plan to overcoming the formidable challenges in addressing COVID-19, Student Affairs has continued, in countless ways, to help UGA students succeed and thrive.
In reflecting on our accomplishments in Student Affairs over the past year, from healthcare to housing, access to engagement, student support to learning, I am perhaps proudest of the strength we have shown in coming together. Creatively, purposefully, and persistently, we have united to meet the needs of students and our community—both today and for the future.
Today UGA students are graduating at the highest rates ever. Applications from prospective students continue to climb. UGA has become a destination—the first-choice for learners across the state and around the world. In Student Affairs, we play a huge part in creating that amazing student experience, even, and especially, in a pandemic. We are more valuable than ever, and I know our impact on students only continues to grow.
As you join in celebrating our successes here, from the completion of the Commit to Georgia comprehensive campaign, which raised more than $13 million for Student Affairs, to the lasting impacts of the learning and developmental experiences we provide for students, know that our successes are truly shared by all.
As a Student Affairs and UGA team, you have simply risen to every challenge. I am incredibly grateful for your talents and commitment to UGA and Student Affairs and your constant dedication to students. Thank you, as ever, for all that you make possible.
These are your successes, so congratulations, and best wishes for a wonderful upcoming year!
