Communications

The Student Affairs Communications team coordinates efforts to represent and promote Student Affairs by increasing its visibility to students and other audiences, employing a consistent brand for the Division, and articulating the contributions of Student Affairs’ learning experiences.

Updates and Next Steps

Student Affairs launched new websites for Student Transitions; Engagement, Leadership, and Service; and the Tate Student Center in August 2020.

The Communications Collaborative officially commenced in its current form on July 27, 2020, when members were welcomed to the initiative via email.

In the near- and mid-term, the Communications collaborative will consider several enhancement to division and campus communications, including:

  • Guidelines for Communicating with Students – These guidelines will serve as a resource for all members of the university community and will include an inventory of campus tools and best practices.
  • Student Affairs Strategic Communications Plan – In consultation with Marketing and Communications and in support of the Student Affairs 2025 strategic plan, the Student Affairs Strategic Communications Plan will determine needs and priorities, goals, and target audiences for Student Affairs programs and services.
  • Accessibility Training and Best Practices – In consultation with the Disability Resource Center and Student Affairs Digital Engagement, determining and communicating best practices to ensure ADA compliance and support of student with disabilities across all Student Affairs media and format, including social media, video, and virtual meeting software (Zoom, etc.).
