Student Resources at UGA Griffin
Bookstore
The UGA Bookstore, operated by Follett College Stores, visits the Griffin campus on pre-arranged dates to sell and buyback textbooks. Students will be notified of specific dates via email and signage. Students may purchase new and used textbooks in the store or online at www.ugabookstore.com. Textbooks ordered and prepaid prior to the beginning of each semester (specific deadlines to be announced) will be delivered to the campus with no delivery charges.
The Griffin Campus Gift Store, located in the Stuckey Building adjacent to the Fitness Center, offers UGA collegiate attire and memorabilia.
Library
The Griffin Campus Research Facility library, a branch of the University of Georgia Libraries, houses a representative collection of agricultural and applied economics, biological and agricultural engineering, crop and soil science, entomology, food science and technology, horticulture, plant genetic resources conservation, and related subjects. The library is located on the first floor of the Stuckey Building. The library is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with staff available from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Researchers who require access to the materials in the library after working hours and on weekends may obtain a key card for this purpose. Testing Services
The Office of Student Affairs provides testing information and services for Constitution andHistory exams for UGA Griffin Students. If you need to take one or more of these tests, please contact the Office of Student Affairs for more information or to schedule an appointment.
Career Services
The Career Center helps students with choosing a major, choosing a career, and job search techniques, such as resume writing and interviewing skills. It also provides services of career planning, mock interviews, and experiential education opportunities, such as internships. These programs are designed to provide you with actual career-related experience prior to graduation. The Career Services office also offers assistance to alumni two years after graduation in finding new jobs and meeting their career needs. All on-campus Federal Work-Study positions are also posted through the Career Center. Griffin students are encouraged to register for Dawg Link through the Career Center’s homepage to take advantage of their many services. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Student Affairs Griffin Campus can assist with resume writing and interview skills by appointment.
Fitness Center
The Fitness Center, located in the Stuckey Building, is available for use by Griffin students, faculty and staff who are registered members. Download the Fitness Center policies for further details [pdf].
Vending
Vending machines (soft drink and snack machines) are located in the following areas:
• Student Learning Center—second floor
- Adjacent break room has a microwave
• Flynt building—third floor student lounge
- Microwave, refrigerator and ice machine are located in the first floor kitchen
• Redding Building—first floor
- Adjacent break room has a microwave, refrigerator and ice machine
• Melton building—main floor
- Break room has a microwave and refrigerator
UGA Card
The Office of Student Affairs, located in 105 Flynt Bldg., can process ID card requests for UGA students, faculty, staff, and other qualified individuals. The cost is $20, which can be paid by debit/credit card, check, or money order (cash not accepted). Call 770/412-4400 to ensure the equipment is available.
