New Griffin Ambassadors
The new Griffin Ambassadors were unveiled at the Griffin campus Graduation Celebration and Brick Ceremony on December 15th, 2011. Undergraduate and graduate students are selected annually to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for campus and community events. Griffin Ambassadors welcome university and community officials to the Griffin Campus, visit with prospective students, and give campus tours. They also travel to area colleges to help recruit students for programs offered at the Griffin Campus.

Graduating Senior Honors His Wife
On December 15th, 2011, Charles (Mike) Eidson, BBA ’11, participated in the Graduation Celebration and Brick Ceremony that honors graduating students on the Griffin campus. After the ceremony, Mike had a special surprise Carla, for his wife of 11 years. Mike presented his UGA class ring to Carla with a special inscription inside: “not without you…CME BBA 2011”. Mike’s gesture captures the sentiment of many, and recognizes that the support of loved ones is essential during the college years!
Cardboard Boat Race
UGA Griffin Cardboard Boat Race Team takes 1st place—AGAIN!
As it has done for almost every year since its inception, the UGA Griffin campus team won the Griffin/Spalding County United Way Campaign Kickoff 2011 Cardboard Boat Race! Boats are constructed using only cardboard, duct tape and paint. Pictured left to right are: Cam Brown, Erin Maldonado, David Porter, and Jessica Kalina. In case any of you are doubters, two students are in the boat on the lake; our boat survived 5 heats—which is not the case for some entries (see second photo).
